I’ve seen many people asking on some of the forums, “Who did the design for Frank Kern’s video optin page?”, and if you’ve seen the recent Mass Control and Google’s Goggles promotion, you’ll know what I mean.

While the above web pages had been taken down, but I just saw another website recently using the same format:

I don’t exactly know who’s the designer and I’m not really interested to know either, because the guy is using “flash” for the design and I think that’s totally useless in terms of SEO. Furthermore, it’ll take longer time to load with all those “flashy” files, although it does looks cool.

Since I’m in a designing mood (because I’m quite free due to my computer broke down and I’m using my wife’s laptop), I decided to create a similar video squeeze page without using any Flash, which means anyone can do it too.

It took me some time to get started because I need to consolidate the right tools and resources for the design. Here’s my final art piece:

You may download the original files and then make necessary change to have your own video squeeze page:

Basically these are the few things you need to change…

  • Change the background image
  • Embed your own video
  • Create your own “power effects” headlines and replace the files and codings
  • Insert your own optin form

Here are the tools and resources I’ve used to create the squeeze page:

  1. Photoshop (or GIMP will also do) for the background images and buttons.
  2. Dreamweaver (or any HTML editor) for creating the web page.
  3. Create cool music video with Animoto.
  4. YouTube.com for uploading my video, but there are many other free websites to host your video too.
  5. Power Effects Advanced to create the “Flash” alike headlines.
  6. An autoresponder service like Getresponse to capture leads from your optin form.

Hope I’m not missing out anything here, but you can always leave me a question at the comments section if you need some help.

Also, feel free to tell me what you think of this squeeze page and I would also like to see any of the “edited” work you’ve done.
